Hopefully you all had a fun and safe holiday weekend. I had a great time, but I am definitely ready to get back to work in the gym. Plenty of food and drink to hold me over for a while. I like to approach my fitness and diet plan realistically. I know that I am not going to be perfect every day, but if I can eat well and workout hard most days, I get to treat myself every once in a while. Now I don’t have to feel so guilty about it. Also, the effects of a few “off” days don’t seem so bad. The problem is when a couple of off days turn into a couple of off weeks, or more. Don’t let having fun derail your plan. If you have goals, try to look at the big picture and don’t stress over each day individually. Do the right thing 90% of the time and you will be just fine. Get into a good routine and it becomes even easier. As we reach the midpoint of summer, try to set milestones for yourself so you aren’t facing a mountain. Little goals each month will make the bigger goals much easier to tackle. Now that we’ve passed the 4th of July, try to extend your hard work to the end of the month, and then small steps from there. Enjoy the good times, but put in the work when it is time and it will all work out. See you in the gym!
