I heard this story on NPR the other day and it’s definitely worth listening to (see below). The story is called “For Modern Women, ‘Ladylike’ Means Strong And Sporty” and it’s an interesting look at how the perception of what is a “good” body for women is changing and how we still have a ways to go as a society. The most important part for me, is that we stop thinking about how we look and whether we fit a certain body type and focus on health and quality of life. Listen to the women from CrossFit Ganbatte in Los Angeles talk about body image and how they try to focus on performance rather than looking a certain way.
