FYI: If you are coming to the Saturday morning class this week there will be a coaching change. Coach Dave will be filling in for us this week as Cori, Tom and Brian are headed to compete in Three Rivers along with their partners. Just an FYI in case you haven’t met Dave yet or are looking for one of us. Other than that, the Saturday class will go on as normal.

Of course, we’d love to have your support at Triple River CrossFit this weekend if you’d like to cheer us on. Here’s the link to the event page on Facebook with all of the details.

Weekly Roundup!

1. Just one thing this week, but it’s a good one you should definitely read. HOW TO PREVENT CROSSFIT INJURIES: A GUIDE FOR COACHES AND ATHLETES. The quote below is a great conclusion, but the full article explains how we can all be safe and have great workouts at the same time. Really it is common sense, but sometimes we let our egos get in the way. Read the article for yourself and see what you think.

While it’s absolutely the coaches’ responsibility to teach correct movement, program sensibly, provide effective scaling options, and ensure the general safety of the group, it’s also the responsibility of the athletes to listen to their bodies, learn when to push and pull back, and eventually, understand their strengths, weaknesses, and limitations—and work to improve them.
