Yet another reason to read food labels, avoid processed food and just know what you are putting into your body…

“A federal judge has ruled that General Mills Inc (GIS.N) must face a lawsuit claiming it tricked consumers by marketing Cheerios Protein as a high-protein alternative to regular Cheerios, when the main difference was that it contained 17 times more sugar per serving.”

This is from the Reuters article General Mills must face lawsuit over Cheerios Protein marketing.

Look, food manufacturers and marketing companies will do almost anything to sell their products. The government seems rather helpless to stop them most of the time. So it is up to you to do your research and know what you are eating.

Don’t believe the fancy packaging and tag lines or commercials. Just because something is marketed as “healthy” or “nutritious” doesn’t mean it is.
