As you may have heard, we’re doing a 6 week nutrition challenge starting on March 3 rd . The focus will be on real foods and learning about proper quantities, and there will be cash prizes for the top 3 people in two categories (percent weight lost and most points). You can get points for: (1) eating real food
(2) in the right quantities
(3) for sleeping 7 or more hours a night. 
You can also get points based on the number of hours of physical activity you do in a week.
The cost is $50, and that includes 5 of the containers we’ll be using to measure quantities. There will be a private Facebook group for participants, where we’ll be sharing some recipes, meal prepping tips, and
encouragement, as well as answering questions. If you’re interested, ask a coach for more details.

There will be an informational meeting (not required for participation) on February 23 rd after the 9:30am CrossFit class, and a sign-up sheet will be at the gym!

On Dec. 6, Lauren Ziegler, 21, of @CrossFit616 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, suffered a massive stroke and could not move the left side of her body. After a month and a half of rehab, she was able to regain all her strength.

"We credit this to CrossFit!" wrote friend Courtney Krause. "She’s currently back in the gym and taking things slow but we’re so thankful to have her back. Our community raised almost $900 for her and her family almost overnight. We are SO proud to be a part of CrossFit and everything it entails. The community is the most supportive and encouraging environment we’ve ever been a part of."

We know you’ve been waiting patiently. We will have open gym time from 2-5 pm. Don’t rush to make a specific time if you want to come in. Don’t drive if you don’t think it’s safe. Coaches will be on hand to guide you through your workout.
Authorities are still advising to stay off the roads. We are making all decisions based on safety and hope you do to!
I promise we really hope this is it. Overnight forecast doesn’t look good, but we still hope to open later in the day. Stay tuned!
Sorry everyone, but it just keeps getting worse out so we are closing for the day. Once again we hope to be open tomorrow, but keep checking here for updates. There’s a home workout on the blog for you today!
We will be open for the noon class today. Take your time and be safe and don’t feel like you HAVE to drive if you don’t feel good about it
We will be closed for morning classes tomorrow, Wednesday, January 30th. 6am, 7am, and 8:30am classes are canceled. We will keep you all posted on the rest of the classes for tomorrow.

We are following the advisement of local road commissions, police, and other experts to keep our CrossFit 616 family as safe as possible. We understand that you CAN make it, but your safety is our priority inside and outside of the gym! Be safe, and do the snow day workout posted in the Community Group on FaceBook:
For Time:
100 Push Ups
100 Burpees
100 Air Squats
100 Sit Ups
*complete all reps of each movement before moving to the next movement!
Stay home, the roads are not safe. We will post a home workout for you soon. No 4, 5, 6, or 7 pm classes tonight.

We’re going to cancel classes for the rest of the day. Everyone’s safety comes first! Hopefully you can stay inside and avoid the roads. Keep checking our social media for updates. We will hold a make-up Elements class Tuesday at 7 pm.
