Another week has flown by and we saw some great progressions. Angela was knocking out toes to bar, Meghan was overhead squatting 65 pounds for reps (previous 1 rep max), Jen deadlifted more than her previous 1 rep max for three (235 pounds) and that's just to name a few. Some of you learned how to squat clean or overhead squat or do a bar muscle up this week. Even if you haven't reached "heavy" weights yet, we are still seeing you do amazing things every day. Things you didn't think you could do before. Just learning and mastering a new skill will make you feel good and helps keep your brain healthy as you age (fighting off dementia and other diseases like Alzheimer's). For those of you that are new to this, don't get caught up in the "how much can I lift" game. Just focus on the technique and the intensity will come. Remember, we are teaching our bodies how to move properly and for some of us that means reversing years of bad motor patterns. It takes time, but we will get there. Can't wait to see what next week brings!
