I came across this article on Elite FTS about push-ups the other day and it does a great job of explaining why the push-up is a great training exercise and how to perform them properly. We do push-ups for a lot of reasons, and one of the most important is torso stability. You know we are always talking about keeping a tight core/midline in everything and the push-up is a great way to train this. Don't get lazy on your push-ups and you will see benefits in almost everything else you do.
