Thursday, November 7
Well it was one of those days for me in the weightlifting class on Wednesday. I worked up to around 75% and felt pretty good. Hit a couple of lifts at 80 and 85% and then everything fell apart. I felt like the bar weighted twice as much as it should and I really felt slow getting under it. Workouts like that are tough. You really want to keep going until you get it, but at some point the law of diminishing returns kicks in and you are doing yourself any good. So, under the wise guidance of coach Robert, we dropped the weight back down, hit one good lift and called it good. There are going to be days like that. Everyone has them. The question is, how do you deal with it? You can't let misses and bad days get in your head. You need to diagnose the problem and fix it, but don't dwell on it. There's always tomorrow. Luckily, I got to watch this video of one of my CrossFit heroes miss a bunch of lifts to make me feel better. Thanks Chris Spealler!
