This year we will do the Open workouts on the Friday following the Thursday night announcement. The Open WOD will be the class WOD for the day. However, the evening classes on Friday will be run a little differently. We are going to do the Open competition style from 5-7 pm every Friday night, with heats going off at appropriate time intervals based on the length of each workout. We want to make each Friday evening during the Open a time for all of us to come together as a gym and give our best and support each other. If you can make it on Friday evenings, please do. All other Friday classes will still have the Open workout as the workout of the day, but we'd love to get as many people together each night to take on these WODs and create a competitive atmosphere that can help people reach new heights.
The Open is a great way to test yourself from year to year. If you are brand new to CrossFit, the Open may not be for you yet, but if you are looking to measure your progress after some time doing CrossFit this is a great way to do it. It's also a great way for us to come together as a community of CrossFitters and support each other. The team building and bonding that takes place every year during the Open can not be overstated. We're looking forward to taking on this challenge again and seeing you all push yourselves to new limits.
