First, Dr. Eric Graf will be here again on Saturday from 9:30 to noon to provide some active release therapy. If you'd like to get treated (for free) please come early and sign up. He will get through as many people as possible, and it will be first come, first serve. Also, join us for Friday Night Lights. We can use all of the support we can get. Come out and judge, cheer or workout. Bring your friends and family. We want a party for Open week 2. See you here between 5-7 pm!
WEEKLY ROUNDUP! Here's some interesting stuff I saw this week: 1. What if you had two people with identical DNA and one exercised and one didn't? Well, read this article about a study done on identical twins that shows exercise makes a huge difference in your fitness, health and brain activity. Also, it leads us to believe genetics aren't everything when it comes to our health. You do have some control. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/03/04/one-twin-exercises-the-other-doesnt/?_r=0
2. One major fitness brand is buying in to the importance of sleep. Of course, we tell you all of the time how important sleep is, but for some reason it's a badge of honor in our culture to not sleep a lot. Forget that, not sleeping is just as bad for you as eating terrible food and not exercising. Read the article here on how Equinox Fitness is studying sleep and advising their clients to get more of it. http://m.fastcompany.com/3042750/sleep-week/a-fitness-giant-eyes-the-next-frontier-of-personal-training-sleeping#
OK, just two things this week so we can get down to business on the Open. Here's the standards video so be ready!
