Winning isn't everything. That's the phrase that kept coming to mind this weekend after watching the "Fight of the Century." If you don't follow boxing, like me, you may have missed the Mayweather v. Pacquiao fight on Saturday night. Mayweather won, but it sure doesn't seem like it. I don't think anyone is disputing that he won the fight, it just seems like people like Pacquiao a whole lot more. And they like him even more after losing. I'm not going to get into the legal troubles of Mayweather here; it's not the place, but it sure seems like people are more concerned with who is the better person rather than who won the fight.

And isn't that the way it should be?

My hope is that we can all approach life this way. It doesn't matter who comes in first or who makes the most money, what matters is that we are good to each other along the way.

When it comes to CrossFit this is easy to see. It does not matter at all who "wins" the workout each day. It doesn't matter who lifts the most or who runs the fastest. What matters is that we are improving ourselves and in doing so we make our lives and the lives of those around us better.

I'm excited to get back in the gym this week to train and surround myself with good people. As you workout try to remember why you are doing it and that no one cares who wins, but everyone cares how you get to the finish line.

Workout for Monday, May 4 4 Rounds, 3 min Each Round: 1st minute: 8 KB Swings + 8 Push Ups 2nd minute: 8 Pistols + 6 Burpees 3rd minute: 30 sec L-Sit Hold (rings, matador, or hanging)

12 min AMRAP: 15 T2B 10 DB Snatch (alternating arms) To start, at 3 min, 6 min, and 9 min: Do 10 Burpees to target at least 6" overhead
