Read Making the Impossible Possible: My Journey to a Strict Pull-up. It's the story of one woman's journey to her first strict pullup. There's an excerpt below, but let me just say this - IT TOOK HER A YEAR AND A HALF!
Well, I’ve done it. After months of hard work, frustration, and tears, I achieved the dream: I got my strict pull-up. This was a moment I’d dreamed about almost since Day One of CrossFit. It’s something I worked on day in and day out for almost a year and a half. It’s something I wanted more than anything else, and something that seemed beyond my grasp more than once.
It might seem a little crazy at first, but you have to admire her dedication and hard work. She put together a plan with her coach to get her to her goal. It took a while, but that's is ok. If you have a goal - pullup, muscle up, handstand pushup - don't wait until the Open in 2016 to wish you had trained. Put together a plan and stick to it. There needs to be a plan with a progression. Build the strength the right way and you will get there. It may take a while, but if you stick to it, you will get there.
