Thursday, June 18
I know I've posted this picture before, but I think it's time for a reminder. We do so much work in the gym developing strength and conditioning, but the key for all of this hard work to be successful is nutrition. If you look at the picture below, you will see the hierarchical development of an athlete begins with a good diet.
Sometimes we all get caught up in the numbers game in the gym. How much do you squat? What's your Fran time? Etc. And nutrition takes a back seat to the workouts. I think we need to occasionally stop and start back from the beginning with a good diet and build up from there. If you aren't getting the results you want, whether it's weight loss, body composition (fat loss), or strength gains, maybe it's because the food you are eating is not supporting your lifestyle.
Here's a video with The Paleo Solution author Robb Wolf as he walks you through the grocery store and gives his recommendations on what to buy and what to avoid. This is a multi-part series with at least six more videos out there. Follow this video to Youtube to watch the rest of the tour.
