Time to get back in the gym after a few days away and I'm excited! I enjoyed my fair share of Thanksgiving treats and did a lot of resting. It's easy to get down on yourself for not working out or eating too much, but let's try to look at things differently. Let's look at the big picture. Instead of worrying about missing a day or two during the week let's think about all of the days we have worked out this year.

Instead of worrying about the extra slice(s) of pie you ate let's look at your diet over the last month.

We have to have balance in our lives, and that means enjoying the rest, recovery and treats when appropriate. So the question is, "When is it appropriate?" The answer will be different for everyone.

What are your goals? What do you want to accomplish in the gym? Are you happy with your body right now?

One thing we can control is our approach to living a healthy lifestyle. You should be enjoying life, not beating yourself up over a missed workout or that cookie you ate.

If you ate a little too much last week, let's look forward to balancing that with a healthy and nutritious week starting today!
