It's already mid December and the holiday season is in full swing. Hopefully you've got all your shopping done. I haven't even started. Anyway don't forget that we have an adjusted schedule around Christmas and New Year's Day. The schedule is up at the gym so come check it out in person! Also, remember that Saturday, January 30 is a big day at CrossFit 616! In-house competition in the morning and Holiday Party at night!

Now it's time for the weekly roundup:

1. Here's a really cool short documentary from Rogue Fitness called Levantadores. It tells the story of a group of strongmen in the Basque region of Spain who compete in events that mimic the real work they do every day.

2. I know I just read an article that said science shows there's no such thing as gluten sensitivity unless you have Celiac disease, but I can't find it right now. But yesterday I saw this article that says there IS evidence of gluten sensitivity now. So confusing, but with all things like this it's best to experiment on yourself. Remove gluten from your diet for a while. See how you feel. Then add it back in. Do you feel worse or better?

3. Know anyone that has had a child recently? A new study shows that childbirth may cause injuries similar to those seen in sports, and those injuries may take a very long time to heal. It's easy to want to jump right back to where you were physically after having a kid, but remember to give your body a chance to heal completely and don't get down on yourself if you don't feel 100% for a while.
