Happy New Year's Eve. Remember, the last class of the day starts at 4 pm and we close at 5! Come get your workout in and have fun, but please stay safe! For those of us that got another year older in 2015 you may start feeling the effects of training hard more than you did in your 20s. If that's the case, you should really think about a daily warm up, mobility and recovery routine to go along with your workouts.

Check out this story from ESPN about basketball star Kobe Bryant (read the article, don't watch the video). He is in his final season in the NBA and is 37 years old. Bryant's body just doesn't hold up the same as it did when he was a teenager. So how does he deal with the constant stress on his joints and muscles and manage to still play (semi) effectively at the highest level of the game? Basically, he gets lots and lots of treatments every day. From massage therapy to chiropractic to muscle activation, Bryant is doing it.

Of course, we all don't have the time and resources of a pro athlete, but we should all have some sort of prehab and recovery routine. If you don't, I think it would be a good goal for the new year. Come up with 10 minutes of pre-workout mobility and 10 minutes of post-workout recovery. If you have no idea what to do, talk to a coach. It can make a huge difference in how your body holds up in 2016 and beyond.
