Wednesday, June 1
OK, I'm a day late with the rowing tips, but don't worry, we will row again soon. Proper rowing technique will make a huge difference in how efficient you are on the rower and will make rowing workouts easier. Today, we're talking about the feet. Hopefully you have heard us say that you need to keep the heels down when rowing. For some of us with limited ankle mobility the heel may come up as we slide back in, but you should focus on getting the heel back down as soon as possible to be able to push through the entire foot.
Check out the video below from rowing coach Shane Farmer. He gives a great demonstration of how pushing through the toes is inefficient and how to set up the foot on the rower to get a good solid push each stroke.
