Last week on the blog we discussed goal setting and how it's not about the end point, it's more about the process when it comes to being successful - daily discipline. This week I just wanted to check in to see how your progress on your 2017 goals is going.

Did you set a goal? Did you make a plan to get there? Have you been doing the work?

I added a link to a page on S.M.A.R.T goal setting in that previous blog post, but wanted to go a little more in depth with that here.

S - Specific - who, what, when, where, why? M - Measurable - how will you measure progress? A - Achievable - Are you willing to do what it takes? R - Relevant - Make sure your goal fits with your greater purpose T - Time-Bound - Give a REALISTIC time frame. Deadlines help you stick with it.

No matter what your goal may be remember that it's the daily work to get to the end point that matters. Mark off each day you did some work to get to your goal. Build momentum by doing a little bit each day.

You'll notice that our goals board asks for your goal plus the process to get there. Set up a process you can control! Don't just arbitrarily pick an end point. You can control your daily behavior, the outcomes will take care of themselves.

Check on your goal and your process. And check on others too. A little nudge from your friends can go a long way to helping you be successful.
