This post is a follow up to the video on Friday's blog post. If you didn't get a chance to watch it, I'd recommend going back.

So much of day-to-day life is not exciting or fun. It's the daily grind that can really get to you over time, and as he says in the video, you have to CHOOSE how you want to handle that.

I sometimes feel like we are all in this big contest to see who has it worst. I overhear conversations (and do it myself) of us all telling each other how terrible an experience we had with this or that. It's like we're trying to one up the each other on who's life is tougher.

This is not a positive approach to everyday life. It's too easy to focus on the negative or let the little annoyances of day-to-day life build up. So what if we CHOOSE to let those things go?

What if we don't let standing in line bother us? What if we don't really care that someone cut us off in traffic? Does it really matter that your co-worker has a different style of getting things done?

You have a choice.

You can choose to focus on all those little negatives that happen every day. Or you can choose to be happy. You can choose to not let the little things bother you. You can choose.

Let's get out of this negative mindset. Let's focus on the positive. Let's see how happy we can be.
