It's finally running season again in West Michigan! I know some of you run as much as possible outside of the gym, but for some of us, running isn't our favorite thing. But, just like anything else, the more you practice it, the easier it will get and the less you will hate it. Heck, you may even learn to enjoy it!

We're starting easy with an 800 m run today and we will continue to add to the volume of running over the next few weeks. Remember, Memorial Day Muprh is just over a month away and we want to be ready!

Also, in the past, we've had a lot of you tell us you suffer from shin splints or other running/overuse injuries. Most of these things are preventable/treatable! Running is a natural movement, but it seems like we forget how to do it. If you run properly and take care of your joints and surrounding tissue there's no reason you shouldn't be able to run pain free.

If you experience pain from running, please talk to a coach about what you can do to improve your situation. There are drills and exercises to help you. Then DO THOSE THINGS!

We're meant to walk and run. It is part of our nature, so there's no such thing as "I don't run." This is a skill we should all possess and we all may need in an emergency.

Get to work fixing the things you need to fix to be able to run properly and without pain. You CAN do it and we are here to help you get there!
