I heard this quote in a podcast the other day and it jumped out at me, so I started looking into where it came from and what it really means: “The way a person does one thing is the way they do everything”

I really like the idea of this. If you are willing to cut corners in one part of your life, you’re probably doing it in other parts too.

But to be honest, the more I thought about it, I am not sure I always agree. I can definitely think of examples in my life where I am willing to settle for less than perfect, and other areas where I won’t. Does that mean I am falling short everywhere?

When I heard the phrase initially I was gung-ho to write a blog about how working hard in the gym can be a reflection of how hard you work outside the gym. But the more I thought about it, the more I doubted that.

Maybe the gym is something else for you. Maybe you have to choose which things in your life you can go 100% on because you don’t have the physical or emotional resources to give everything on everything. Does anyone?

What do you think about this statement? I definitely think there’s something to it, but like most things, I feel like the real answer is somewhere in the middle.

Where do you give 100%? Do you consciously choose which things to give your all to? Do you go hard on everything? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
